The Centre has been given a wonderful opportunity to work with the Isle of Man prison to monitor exposure levels to secondhand smoke. The prison became smokefree on 31 March, and the TCCC was given permission to visit the prison to undertake particle monitoring of the prison environment to assess exposure levels of both smoking and non smoking prisoners, staff members and prison visitors both pre and post the ban. Full findings from the research will be reported at a later date. This project has been funded by Cancer Research UK.
