Alongside PMA's role as a research, training and organisational development consultancy sits the PMA Foundation. The Foundation is a registered charity (No. 1095548) which supports research into the causes, prevention and treatment of illnesses including HIV, cancers, and heart disease. The Foundation focuses on projects based in the United Kingdom and Southern Africa and publishes the useful results of research for public benefit.

PMA's role as a limited company is used in part to fund the Foundation although it receives from other grant giving boides such as the Charles Hayward Foundation. We are always enthusiastic about proposals which meet these criteria.

Recent grants have supported a two year academic research programme looking at all teenage conception in the UK; a health literacy programme in the Limpopo Valley; part funding of a conversion of a LandRover/ambulance fro St. Anne's Hospital in Nkhota-kota, Malawi and a health education project near Jinja in Tanzania.
